The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine gave consent for appointing of Valentyn Nalyvaychenko for the post of the chief of the Security Service of Ukraine (the SBU).

According to an UNIAN correspondent, 230 out of 438 parliament members registered in the session hall voted for adoption of the relevant decision.

Particularly, 149 lawmakers from the BYUT faction, 61 lawmakers from the Our Ukraine – People’s Self Defense faction and some 20 lawmakers from the Lytvyn’s Bloc voted for adoption of the relevant decision.
