Verkhovna Rada passed state budget-2009

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine passed the Law of Ukraine “On the State Budget of Ukraine for the Year 2009”.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, 226 MPs out of 353 registered in the chamber voted for it.

The Verkhovna Rada Budget Committee held a session with government representatives Friday and agreed to allocate additional 500 million hryvnias for the Interior Ministry of Ukraine. Besides, the Budget Committee made decision to channel addition financing to the Defense Ministry of Ukraine for scouring military stockpiles, and allocated 100 million hryvnias for building a bridge over the Dnipro River in the city of Zaporizhzhya.
