The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine states that Russia refuses to carry out a session of the sub-commission for issues of the RF Black Sea Fleet operation at the Ukrainian-Russian Inter-Government Commission.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Victor Semenov, Special Ambassador of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, claimed this to a press conference on Tuesday.

He noted that the Ukrainian side has many times proposed Russia to carry out a session of the sub-commission for issues of the Russian Black Sea fleet. “Ukraine proposed to carry out the session as early as in June, then in July, then recently. We have got a negative response, the Russian side has been refusing to hold the session”, he said.

According to V.Semenov, the Ukrainian side believes that the last sessions of the working group indicated that the sessions take place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere and have a positive result.

“Ukraine believes that should this session be not held, it will hamper the process of talks, which has a positive dynamics, as of today. A regular, if any, official refusal of the Russian side to hold the session will be regarded by us as an artificial political decision”, he said.
