Yanukovych: Constitution demands to carry out election this year

President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych believes that in accordance with Constitution election to the local power bodies should take place in autumn 2010.

The Head of the State said this in an interview to television channels on Sunday.

V. Yanukovych said that he will start consultations concerning this issue with political forces in coming future. The consultations will be based on “demands of Constitution”.
