Ukraine is returning its fame of the world granary – Tymoshenko

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko views that a tendency of harvesting a grain-crops yield this year proves that Ukraine is returning its fame as the world granary. She was heard as saying to the journalists after getting familiarized with a process of harvesting of early crops from one of Mykolayiv region fields, according to Office of mass media relations of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Secretariat.

Prime Minister hailed Odesa region with a yield of 1 million tons of corn crop. According to her, Mykolayiv region has gathered 0.5 million tons of corn crop for today.

Yulia Tymoshenko reminded that according to the forecasts this year Ukraine will have harvested twofold amount of grain crops as compared to the previous year. “Such a tendency proves that Ukraine is returning its fame of the world granary but the authorities are forced to work a bit more to return to Ukraine its bygone fame,” the Head of Government urged.
