Ukraine-EU Program of Actions prolonged for another year

The common report on fulfilling the three-year Ukraine-EU Program of Actions was adopted at the 12th session of the Ukraine-EU Cooperation Council in Brussels on Tuesday. Besides, the session decided to prolong the Ukraine-EU Program of Actions for another year.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko claimed this to a joint press conference with EU representatives in Brussels.

“The three-year Ukraine-EU Plan of Actions has expired. For the first time, today we adopted a joint report on fulfilling this program. It indicates that the dynamics in the EU-Ukraine relations has been positive, a big progress was achieved on every issue that we discussed. So, we agreed to prolong the program of actions for a year at maximum. But, we also agreed that during this year a new political instrument, new political document will be created. It will regulate and organize our cooperation”, Yulia Tymoshenko stressed.

She also informed that they agreed to maximally effectively fulfill 23 additional measures, which were agreed today and will become a basis for collaboration between Ukraine and EU in the nearest future.

“I should stress that in these 23 measures, there is an absolutely new provision, which allows Ukraine taking part in European programs, which were earlier available only either to EU member countries or to EU candidate countries”, Yulia Tymoshenko pointed out.
