Kravchuk praises Tymoshenko

Ukraine’s first President Leonid Kravchuk is confident that the new Cabinet of Ministers may be praised for its decisions, as well as for adopting the State Budget-2008, according to The Day daily.

Kravchuk pointed out that the State Budget-2008 solves numerous social and even historical issues, for instance, the reimbursement of savings in the former USSR Savings Bank.

“These are really the actions, aimed at increasing confidence in power. But there is yet another moment. Politicians now strive to fulfill their pre-election promises. You know, probably, this happens for the first time through the history of the Ukrainian independence, that the authorities keep their promises”, he stressed.

However, Yulia Tymoshenko neglected the promise to divide the power and business. In the opinion of Kravchuk, in fact, it would be right, but, as of today, Ukraine needs businessmen at power. The lack of skilled professionals is a big trouble.

“Yes, we do have many people, who are really devoted to the Ukrainian idea, the Ukrainian great-power status, the Ukrainian independence. But, to fulfill the functional duties of a Minister, one needs experience. I guess we can’t do without people, who gained such an experience and cut their teeth on their personal practice”, Kravchuk emphasized.

According to him, the Ukraine’s biggest trouble is the nepotism at power. “Relatives, business, and power is the worst mixture for the country”, he stressed.
