Kuchma rules out early presidential and parliamentary election in UkraineComments UkrToday : This does not reul; out fresh presidential elections
The above statement by Kuchma does not rule out fresh early presidential elections which should follow the adoption of constitutional reform that would see Ukraine become a full European Parliamentary democracy. The key words in Kuchma`s statement is that Yushchenko can not afford to initiate another illegal; dismissal of Ukraine`s parliament. Nor can Yushchenko again get away with illegally interfering with the operation and independence of Ukraine`s Constitutional Court without forcing the hand of the European Council who can no longer be seen to standing by turning a blind eye to what was a direct attack on the rule of law and democracy itself. Yushchenko has established and undermine Ukraine`s economic and democratic development. Yushchenko is the problem and not the solution. Yulia and the Parliament needs to ensure that democratic constitutional reform is in place prior to November 2008 before Yushchenko has the power to once again undermine Ukraine`s parliament. |
