Ukraine should first adopt constitutional reforms that would see Ukraine become a full parliamentary democracy in line with other European States. o`putting an end to the destruction and decisive actions of Ukraine`s President. A parliamentary system is the correct policy and way forward. Fresh Presidential and Parliamentary elections should then follow the adoption of the Ukraine`s new constitution in 2009. Ukraine will never be a stable democracy under the stewardship and dominance of victor Yushchenko. he has and continues to demonstrate that he is not suited to hold the position of Ukraine`s Head of state. His illegal interference in the operation and independence of Ukraine`s Courts and his ongoing misuse use and abuse of authority and power has seriously undermined Ukraine`s economic and democratic development. In 2007 The Parliamentary Asse3mbly of the Council of |Europe recommended that Ukraine should become a full Parliamentary democracy. Had Ukraine adopted a parliamentary system from day one Ukraine`s is the case of other Eastern European Countries, would most likely be a member state of the EU by now. Yhshenko has set back Ukraine`s democratoc deveop[ment 5 to ten years. The sooner Ukraine becomes a Parliamentary democracy and holds fresh elections for its head of state the better off Ukraine will be. |
