Anthony : Kyiv must protest and respect Ukraine`s world heritage
Ukraine and the Love authorities as signatories to UNESCO and world heritage agreements have an International; obligation to protect Ukraine`s world heritage sites. Its obligations to future generations require Ukraine to ensure proper management and planning of historic sites complies with the standards and provisions of the United Nations charters. If the City Council can not act to protest these sites then it is incumbent on the government and president to act in compliance with Ukraine`s international obligations. Any proposed over development and overshadowing would be of serious concern to the UNESCO ICMOS who should approve of any planning development procedures in advance.
